Sonesta ES Suites San Antonio Downtown Alamo Plaza

Evening desk attendant that checked us in didn’t share a lot of pertinent info, like the once a week house keeping policy. Was frustrating to be told no same day house keeping requests you had to ask the day before or wait for your scheduled day. Knowing upfront would have been great.

My family and I stayed here for two nights, we checked in on Christmas Eve. The front desk clerk was very friendly and the valet parking lot attended was very nice as well. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The view was pleasant and the location was perfect. I was not happy with the parking fee of $40 each day, so I found parking on the street and saved a ton. Parking was free from 6pm to 8am which was good. During the day it was 30cents a hour so I paid for a few hours up until I was leaving for the day. It worked out just fine and many others ppl did the same. The second day of staying the oven broke so there was very little breakfast , mainly cereal or oatmeal , but the next day the breakfast was ready and served as they had a great selection. I recommend this hotel.

Loved it here. Spent a week. It was full of band competition kids..never heard a peep..our room was super clean. The people all around were very nice all the time. The breakfast was good. Parking is 40 a day valet .it was fast and easy to get our car. The valetes were cool guys. I felt safe. Coffee all the time.

Last minute one night booking. Nice room overall. There were some coffee stains on the counter and unflushed tissue in the toilet during walk-through. There was no parking on the premises due to being full from other guests so we had to park on the street.

OMG!!! Donyeill was amazinggggg!! Awesome customer service throughout my entire night! From the valet workers, to front desk and even the cleaning crew went above and beyond with amazing customer service!! This hotel is a must… perfect area, reasonable pricing… I loved my visit, was even gifted a bottle because I was celebrating my birthday!!! U will not regret your stay!!! Highly Recommend!!! My stay at the Sonesta was nothing short of wonderful! From the moment I arrived, the team made me feel welcome and secure. The rooms were absolutely gorgeous, with a beautiful view and a cozy, home-like atmosphere. It was quiet enough for me to study, yet conveniently located in an area where I could easily step out and take a break when needed. A special shoutout to Donyiel (Donny) — he truly made my stay exceptional. Whether it was his daily greetings with a contagious smile, thoughtful recommendations, or simply lending a listening ear, his kindness and professionalism stood out. Because of him and the overall experience, I’ll not only recommend this hotel to my friends and family but will definitely be returning myself.

Our family of four had a great experience at this hotel. The suite was spacious, clean, and very comfortable—perfect for relaxing after long days at our event. The staff at the front desk, valet (with one exception), and breakfast service were friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. Unfortunately, one valet attendant stood out for the wrong reasons: no eye contact, no greeting, and no acknowledgment—just a silent handoff of the keys. It was disappointing, especially compared to the otherwise excellent service we received. The location was ideal for our competition venue and made exploring downtown easy and enjoyable. Overall, we would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others, with hopes that all staff uphold the same warm hospitality we experienced elsewhere in the hotel.

The room is large and clean, though a bit worn in places, with no real issues. Everything works fine, and overall the room is very good. However, there are two main issues with this hotel. First, the valet service is slow, unreliable, and expensive, and you cannot use the hotel garage unless you use the valet service. The second issue is breakfast. It is not regularly refilled, so if you arrive later, most of the food is already gone.
